I can’t remember the exact moment or connection that brought Kaileen Elise Sues, founder of Celebrate Cultivate, into my e-life but I’m so glad it happened! A writer, wife, and mama in pursuit of simple joys and magical vibes, I am always so inspired by her posts and more importantly, her words. She recently launched Celebrate Cultivate, a site dedicated to sharing ideas for presence, ease, joy and contentment. Launching tomorrow, join the community project by signing up for the newsletter and receive daily prompts for celebrating 2018 and cultivating more of what you want in 2019. As Kaileen says, in the mess of motherhood, we need something solid to hold onto. Reflecting reminds us that we are courageous and capable. Setting intentions reminds us of where we’re heading, gentle guidance in the chaos of raising tiny humans. We couldn’t agree more. Sign up for her newsletter HERE.

We don’t always know when something is about to change, but right now we are on the cusp. This year is complete on December 31st and the new year starts on January 1st. That shift is upon us, it’s just around the corner.

As mothers, we often sweep achievements under the rug. We brush challenges aside for more pressing issues like laundry and dishes, nap time and play dates. Try as we might, we cannot hold onto the contents of a year. Our arms grow heavy when we carry too many memories. We have to set some of it down to make room for more.

This time of year is perfect for reflecting and setting intentions. Both are ways to slow down, consider the grand scheme of things, and bring mindfulness to our everyday.

Look back and recognize all that you have done in 2018. Everything accomplished, the relationships fostered, the places visited. Think about how you felt through the big moments and tiny triumphs. Reflection gives an opportunity to honor all that’s happened. It is a practice in appreciating and releasing what is done. Reflection creates space for what’s next.

Intentions are a way to welcome more of what you want into your life. At the beginning of the year, intentions set the tone for the days, weeks, and months ahead. Intentions are soul-filled touchstones — a word, a phrase, or a way of being that is calling to you. Intentions are grounding, a firm place for you to stand. They foster growth, a place from which you can soar.

In the mess of motherhood, we need something solid to hold onto. Reflecting reminds us that we are courageous and capable. Setting intentions reminds us of where we’re heading, gentle guidance in the chaos of raising tiny humans.

Celebrate Cultivate is a community project that grew from my desire to slow down and enjoy the goodness in this time of year. It is a way to share the beauty and wonder that grows from reflections and intentions.

Starting on December 1st, we will offer daily prompts with ideas for celebrating this year and cultivating more of what you want next year. Our email subscribers receive the prompts a week in advance via our newsletter and we will release a new prompt each day on Instagram. We will wrap up 2018 with reflection and welcome 2019 with intention together.

How you participate is up to you. This is not meant to be another dreaded item on your holiday to-do list. Instead, we encourage you to find what resonates with your heart and fits in with your days. Post a reflection on the prompt to your blog or Instagram. Write in your journal or draw a daily doodle in the margins of your planner. Ruminate in the shower, talk with your partner once the kids are in bed, or text a friend with your thoughts.

The Celebrate Cultivate prompts will give you food for thought and gentle encouragement. We’re just getting started and there’s room for everyone. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter, follow us on Instagram @celebratecultivate and share with the hashtag #wecelebratecultivate.
