Oh fall, how we love you. It seems like everyone everywhere breathes a sigh of release. No more sweat! No more 100 degree days! No more iced coffee! We bust our our sweaters, and start daydreaming of decorating for the holidays. Or maybe you’ve already started. No? Just me? Yesterday was the first day of fall and by some weird circumstance, it was actually chilly in Austin. By chilly, I mean 80 degrees but I wore a sweater and got my first hot latte of the year. You have to take advantage of these days in Austin! With these cooler temps, it has us planning all the things I want to with my family this fall. Last year we went to NYC and went apple picking to a farm I used to go to when I lived there. The leaves were turning, the weather was crisp and seeing Bowie play with my friends babies in Central Park was everything. This year with a newborn we’ll be home but we are still planning to take advantage of all the fall-related activities and some! We make a family bucket list every season, including the new year. They help keep us accountable and serves as a good reminder when the season gets overwhelming. We love this printable Autumn Bucket List by A Beautiful Mess if you fancy. FALL BUCKET LIST
Visit A Farmers Market
We live down the street from two and love the one downtown but we rarely make it there. It’s an amazing place to connect with local vendors, try new foods, and walk away with mostly healthy whole foods for the week ahead. Adding this to our weekly rotation.
Take Multi-Generation Family Photos
Yikes, that is a mouthful but basically means we’ll be taking family photos this year with the whole fam. Kids, grandparents, and on both sides. My boys are so lucky to have all four grandparents around and when we’re all together, we rarely take photos! This fall, we’ll be working with photographer Heather Gallagher to get everyone in one shot.
Visit A Pumpkin Patch
This is an obvious one! But which one this year? Would love your tips on the best ones Austin or surrounding cities have to offer.
Take An Overnight Trip With Mom & Sister
Two years ago, my sister and I gifted a weekend winery trip to our mom for Christmas. We have yet to take it! This will happen this year!
Clean Out Screened In Porch
We have the best screened in porch that my husband added on to our house years ago but it currently holds remnants from our remodel this summer. We want to clean it out and get it ready for outdoor movie nights, craft projects, and playdates.
Make Pumpkin Pie with Bowie
Bowie loves to “help” me in the kitchen. When he’s engaged, screen time or toys are nowhere in sight or thought.
Finish Baby Books
This one is on every checklist every season every year and will be until i finish them.
Run The Turkey Trot
5 Miles. I’ve done it once and I know I can do it again. Time to start training!
