A few weeks ago we celebrated Love Child’s first birthday at the iconic Austin Motel. What a milestone! I knew a party was in order to thank the readers, the contributors, my assistant, the interns, and every one else who had a part in getting Love Child off the ground. The newly-renovated and iconic Austin Motel generously offered their retro-inspired pool deck. It was a night of surprises with unusually cool weather, an unexpected rain shower and a double rainbow. What more could you ask for?
We invited 50 of our closest friends who enjoyed the most beautiful arrangements by Bricolage Curated Florals, delicious poke bites by Lucky Lime, daiquiris by Flor De Cana and Ready To Pop (non-alcoholic bubbly), a lipgloss bar by Eleve Cosmetics, and gift bags by Outdoor Voices that held so many goodies. Esperos, an Austin-based handbag line, gave away Petite Packs (my personal favorite) to three lucky party-goers. I can’t thank photographer Paige Newton and videographer Kana LiVolsi of Dos Mundos Creative enough for these sweet memories. Check out the video here. This was truly one of the best nights of my life. Here’s to year 2!

The swag bags were filled with goodies from some of our favorite shops. We can’t say enough good things about Lucky Lime. Light, fresh and healthy (and available for delivery in the Austin area), our party-goers couldn’t stop talking about it. We are huge fans of Rebecca Meeker, the chef and mastermind behind the brand, who prepares the meals with healthy ingredients and whole foods.
Almost as soon as our guests entered the party, they were met with our lipgloss bar by Eleve Cosmetics. An award winning, clean, all natural and vegan-based line, guests were able to talk directly with founder Gertie Wilson.

New mama Candice DePrange of OH! Fox Vintage and baby Penn cooled off in the pool.
Not even a surprise rainstorm was enough to convince guests to leave. Shortly after this photo was taken, we all huddled under the umbrellas until the storm passed. It made for the best selfies!
