When it came time to plan my maternity shoot, I knew comfort was key. Not knowing how I’d feel when I woke up that morning (pregnancy has a way of doing that), I decided to keep it simple and plan the shoot at home. I didn’t have to worry about the weather (it rained all morning), parking downtown, or awkward looks from bystanders. I curled my hair and makeup artist Laura Martinez stopped by to do my makeup. For the actual shoot, it was just me, photographer Alysha Rainwaters and this dress.  I also used it as a good excuse to re-decorate the guest room. We kept the mood light and airy with a few new throw pillows, white sheer curtains, and fresh flowers.
