Beauty

Most likely you recycle, shop locally, and enjoy eating farm to table. Apply these same go green principles to our beauty regime? Not so much. It’s not our fault! We get caught up in the latest beauty trends and need that new lip color or we tend to think any product with the label organic or eco-friendly is out of our price range. But our good friend and makeup artist Katherine Crenshaw is here to change our minds and makeup bags. She makes it a point to use as many earth-friendly and safe products on her clients and shared a few of her favorites with us, tips included.

1. Burt’s Bees Lipstick, $8.99

This beautiful berry shade is a little unexpected for summer but cool, daring and effortless all in one sheer swipe of color.

2. Everyday Minerals Jojoba Color Corrector, $8.99

Blend some of the green corrector into the skin before concealer to cancel out any redness or sunburns. Pretty enough to use as an eyeliner too!

3. Mineral Fusion 3-in-1 Color Stick, $19.99

This cream mineral stick can be blended on the cheeks, lids and lips. With a hint of color on the face, along with groomed brows and bit of gloss, your summer beauty routine can be done in under 3 minutes flat.

4. Tarte Clay Pot Waterproof Shadow Liner, $21

The brand has discovered that the minerals found in Amazonian Clay has a natural lifespan of 12 hours+. This color is gorgeous on any eye color for a subtle and enchanting look.

5. Lush Cosmetics Eyeliner, $19.95

Use as an eyeliner for the perfect pop of unexpected metallic for your lids.
