Last week, I decided to do a major closet overhaul. Like channeled Marie Kondo and tossed nearly everything. It felt amazing and I remember thinking, I could totally do a wardrobe capsule and then quickly changed my mind-I’m not there yet. But what I did realize was that I was done with fast fashion. I just can’t anymore. I made a pact with myself that moving forward, it was all about quality over quantity. Maybe it’s my age (I don’t actually mean that and 33 is the new 25 anyways) or maybe it’s that I want to feel good in what I’m wearing but there you have it, my New Year’s Resolution I couldn’t wait to start.
That’s when we heard from the shops at Gateway Center. Teaming up with them was the perfect test start to my new approach to shopping. They offer a variety of shops with designer pieces (quality!) at affordable prices. I found pieces at Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th, and the newly opened J.Crew Mercantile that will all stand the test of fashion time. Each store is perfect for holiday shopping and for stocking up on essentials like I did below. See shopping sources below post.
